Welcome to

UpstateJesus People

Serving together

Every church in the Upstate, side by side. It starts with listening.

Upstate Jesus People

A volunteer hub for every church

Before anyone plans a serve day, we want to listen. Your answers decide where the churches of the Upstate go first.

We're asking pastors, church members, neighbors, teachers, nurses and city leaders the same questions about health, education, resources and development. Then we send volunteers from many churches to the biggest needs, together.

Take the needs surveyAnonymous. About five minutes.

What we're asking about

four kindsof need

Health needs

Body, mind, and a way to get care.

Body, mind and access to care. Hunger, mental health, addiction, and whether people can actually see a doctor when they need one.

Education needs

Skills that open doors.

What people know and the skills they need. Reading, tutoring, job skills, money skills, and learning English.

Resources needs

The basics to get through the week.

The basics people need to get through the week. Housing, transportation, childcare, utilities, food and work.

Development needs

Growing up, growing old, growing in faith.

How people grow socially, emotionally and spiritually at every age. Kids, teens, families, seniors, and the people who walk with them.

Questions

What people ask us

What is Upstate Jesus People?

A shared volunteer hub for believers from every church in Upstate South Carolina. It is not a church and isn't trying to become one. Volunteers from different congregations serve side by side where the need is greatest, then go home to their own church on Sunday.

Where do you serve?

Across the Upstate of South Carolina, including Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee counties.

What is the community needs survey?

A short survey, about five minutes, that asks what your part of the Upstate needs most in four areas: health, education, resources and development. Neighbors, church members, pastors, teachers, nurses, nonprofit leaders, business owners and city or county officials can all take it.

Is the survey anonymous?

Yes, by default. We only ask for a name or email if you want someone to reach out. Results are shared as totals by area and by church, never as one person's answers.

How can my church get involved?

Take the survey as a leader and share it with your congregation, announce serve days when they fit, host a listening session or a food drop when you can, and pray with us. The page for churches and city leaders has the details.

How do I volunteer?

Sign up on the Serve page with your church, your county, the kinds of help you'd like to give and when you're usually free. A real person will reach out about serve days that fit. If you're under 18, we'll reach out to a parent or guardian.
